Berklee College of Music

Scholarship Renewal Portfolio

Presented by the Guitar Department and directed by Abigail Aronson Zocher, this showcase featured some of Berklee's finest guitarist/singer-songwriters playing original music in a variety of settings. I performed one of my own original songs solo, accompanied fellow student performer on acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies, and played bass in the featured Joni Mitchell Ensemble.

SAAVE (Student Allies in Anti-Violence Education) is student advocacy and education group whose vision is to help foster an environment on campus that is safe, respectful, and inclusive through education on the prevention of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and gender-based harm. The group runs two main initiatives each year; Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Week in October and Sexual Assault Awareness Week in April. These weeks include many active and passive programs to provide education and support for the Berklee community. The included images are posters that I designed for various SAAVE initiatives, including a recruitment poster, open mic event poster, a campaign on healthy relationships, and a passive programming community piece.

Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival is an annual music festival that presents nationally and internationally touring bluegrass bands and showcases emerging artists from around the country. The weekend features a variety of acoustic music including traditional and contemporary bluegrass, jam bands, old-time, swing, and Cajun, averaging about 6,000 patrons per day. I performed with my band Willow Down at the Emerging Artist Showcase presented by Berklee College of Music.

Willow Down is a Boston-based band of four multi-instrumentalists & songwriters: Megan McGarry, Kat McLevey, Casey Murray, and Emilie Rose. The group met through the American Roots Music Program at Berklee College of Music and formed their band in the Spring of 2017. This video features the song "Wild Horses", written by banjo player and lead vocalist Megan McGarry.
